After watching mom shot in head, girl recovers from gunshot wounds

Police search for shooter responsible for 1 dead, 2 wounded in West Park

WEST PARK, Fla. – Doctors at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital were treating 9-year-old Kalaya Clark, who remained hospitalized on Saturday morning. If she survives the gunshot wounds, she will have to mourn the loss of her pregnant mom.

The bullets coming from a dark-colored SUV hit the little girl, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office. Her mom, Patrice Nunally, 28, was shot in the head. Relatives said she was five months pregnant.

Nunallly was engaged to Tyrell Myrick, 26, who survived the Thursday night shooting, but remained in intensive care at Memorial Regional Hospital.

"He was shot two times in the ribs and two times in the back," Myrick's sister Ashely Milline said.

Milline said Kalaya was crying when her mom was shot and she was shot in the thigh, knee and arm.

Deputies were looking for the three men who were in the SUV involved in the shooting at 4521 SW 22 St., in Broward's West Park neighborhood.

The couple had a Knot.com wedding registry.  According to their post they were set to wed Oct. 21 in Georgia.

Detectives were asking anyone with information to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
