Ambulance stolen outside Jackson Behavioral Health Hospital

Suspect in custody, police say

MIAMI – A man was arrested Monday after an ambulance was stolen outside the Jackson Behavioral Health Hospital, authorities said.

Miami-Dade police said the ambulance was parked outside the crisis center at 1695 NW Ninth Ave. when it was taken.

Sky 10 was above the 900 block of Northwest Second Street just before 10 a.m. where the suspect was stopped and arrested.

According to authorities, David Bozeman, got into the ambulance after it was left unattended under the overhang at the hospital.

Police said Bozeman crashed the ambulance into a University of Miami patient transport bus, which forced him to stop.

The driver of the UM bus was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Bozeman was arrested and faces a third-degree grand theft charge.

He is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
