Detectives investigate murder in Northwest Miami-Dade

1 killed, 2 wounded during shooting Saturday morning

MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – A man was killed and two other men were wounded Saturday at the Silver Blue Lakes Apartments in Northwest Miami-Dade. 

Authorities responded to 1321 NW 103 St., where a yellow tarp later covered a body in the parking lot. According to Detective Argemis Colome the third shooting victim was at 1447 NW 101 St. 

 

"I heard the shots and I duck and I grabbed my kids and went down," Tiffany Johnson said. "When the bullets stopped flying, I came outside and saw an innocent person on the ground." 

 

Relatives identified the man killed as 54-year-old Sylvester Thompson. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue rushed the other two men to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. 

 

Miami-Dade homicide detectives were investigating the shooting and were asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
