Video shows intruder tying up housekeeper during Key Biscayne home invasion

Police try to find man who attacked housekeeper, ransacked home

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. ā€“ Police released new surveillance video that showed an intruder ransacking a Key Biscayne home last week and holding a housekeeper at gunpoint.

The surveillance video released Thursday showed the gunman marching the housekeeper down the stairs and then tying her up with plastic tie wraps during the Dec. 2 home invasion.

Police said the housekeeper heard noises inside the home on Woodcrest Lane and was confronted by the intruder.

"He does tie her up and he does beat her to the point that he also threatens her with her life," Miami-Dade police Detective Daniel Ferrin said.

The man ransacked the home and left her tied up inside, but she was able to free herself and call police.

Area schools were placed on lockdown as police searched for the man, but he got away.

"This is a type of individual that we need to get out of our streets, and we need the help of the community," Miami-Dade police Detective Daniel Ferrin said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the man to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
