Man accused of stabbing brother to death in Davie over woman

Pedro Hernandez, 22, faces premeditated murder, manslaughter charges

DAVIE, Fla. – A man is facing multiple charges after he stabbed his older brother to death over the weekend while they were fighting about a woman one of the men had dated, authorities said.

According to Davie police, Pedro Hernandez, 22, and his brother got into a fist fight shortly before midnight Friday outside their home in the 600 block of Southwest 131st Terrace.

Police said Hernandez was losing the fight so he went inside his home and grabbed a knife. He then stabbed his brother to death, police said.

Hernandez's mugshot shows him with a black eye and bloodied lip.

According to an arrest report,  his cousins heard  loud banging outside the home and went outside to find out what was going on.

The cousins asked where Hernandez's brother was and he said, "(expletive) him," the report said.

Detectives said they observed signs of a struggle at the crime scene and found a bloody knife with a black handle and blood on the ground and on the exterior walls of the home.

Police said the victim was stabbed in the abdomen and died during surgery.

Hernandez was arrested Saturday on charges of manslaughter and premeditated murder.
