Lauderhill police said Thompson stabbed Savage with a screwdriver Saturday morning during an argument behind the Star 7 Food Store.

According to an arrest affidavit, Thompson was walking away from the store when he passed by a friend of Savage, telling her that he stabbed Savage in the chest with a screwdriver because Savage was getting on his nerves.

Police said witnesses identified Thompson from a surveillance photograph taken at the store. Several witnesses said Thompson confessed to stabbing Savage when they encountered him outside the store.

Thompson was being held without bond Monday at the main Broward County jail.
