Man arrested in connection with 4 armed robberies at Hialeah businesses

Robberies reported over 2-week period

HIALEAH, Fla. – A South Florida man was arrested Wednesday in connection with four armed robberies that were reported in a two-week period at businesses throughout Hialeah.

Hialeah police Sgt. Carl Zogby said the robberies were reported between Nov. 16 and Dec. 4.

According to Zogby, Jose Guerra Rodriguez, 50, would enter the business alone, throw a black bag on the counter and demand money from the clerk.

The first robbery was reported at 7:35 p.m. Nov. 16 at a Sedano's Supermarket at 3925 Palm Ave., where $3,000 was stolen. Guerra Rodriguez is also believed to have robbed a Mobil gas station at 400 E. 25th St. at 7:08 p.m. Nov. 25, where an unknown amount of cash was taken.

Zogby said the third robbery was reported at 7:40 p.m. Nov. 25 at a Shell gas station at 5329 Palm Ave., where $300 was taken. The final incident was reported at 4:40 p.m. Dec. 4 at a Family Dollar store at 3333 Palm Ave. No money was taken during the attempted robbery.

Zogby sad Guerra Rodriguez was armed in each case with a black handgun in his waistband or hand.

Guerra Rodriguez fled each scene in a 2003 Ford F-150, Zogby said. He faces charges of armed robbery and attempted armed robbery.
