Man flees in Nissan Altima after pointing gun at woman on apartment balcony

Woman's boyfriend shot in chest while chasing culprit, police say

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – North Miami police are searching for a man who pointed a gun at a woman who was standing on her balcony, and then fled in a blue or black older-model Nissan Altima.

The incident was reported about 4 p.m. Monday at 13215 Northeast Sixth Ave.

Police said the woman was on her balcony when she was approached by a man who pointed a gun at her.

The victim's boyfriend ran after the gunman, who jumped into the passenger side of a car.

Police said the gunman fired a shot at the boyfriend as the car drove away, striking him in the chest.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information about the gunman or vehicle used in the shooting is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
