The flight attendants told officers that they asked Uckun to sit down, but he refused and requested something to drink.

The flight crew said they told him to go back to his seat and said they would help him as soon as possible.

When the cabin supervisor approached Uckun, the passenger said, "I have a bomb and you can search me," the report said.

The cabin supervisor called gate agents, who contacted police.

Police detained Uckun, who told officers that the bomb threat was a joke, the report said.

Uckun, who is from Turkey, was arrested on a charge of making a hoax bomb threat. He remains in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on an immigration hold.

An airport representative said the flight was scheduled to depart at 10:45 p.m., but it was delayed until 12:11 a.m. after Uckun was removed from the plane.
