LIGHTHOUSE POINT, Fla. – A man who claimed he had explosives robbed a bank Monday morning in Lighthouse Point, the FBI said.
FBI Special Agent Michael Leverock said the man entered a Bank of America branch on Federal Highway about 9:45 a.m. and demanded money from an employee, claiming he had explosives.

No customers were inside the bank at the time, and no injuries were reported.
Leverock said the Broward Sheriff's Office bomb squad was called to check the bank for explosives, but none were found.
He didn't say how much money, if any, the man took.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the FBI office in South Florida at 754-703-2000.
