Man sought in 2 armed robberies in Hollywood

Man accused of holding up clerks at knifepoint

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Hollywood police are searching for a man who they say robbed two businesses this week at knifepoint.

The first robbery was reported shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday at a Marathon gas station at 3034 Johnson St.

Police said the man, who was wearing a baseball hat, a white T-shirt, shorts and black boots, held a knife to the clerk and demanded money.

Police said the clerk handed him a money bag containing about $200.

The robber left in a gray Toyota or Lincoln.

The second robbery was reported just before 5:30 p.m. Monday at a Quick Stop store at 2344 N. Dixie Highway.

Police said a man with a similar description held a knife to the clerk and stole about $200 from the cash register.

Police said he was wearing a baseball hat, a green T-shirt and white shorts. He is described as a white man, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds.
