Miami man calls police, says he was shot in face 2 or 3 days ago

Victim taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital

MIAMI – Miami police are investigating after a man called 911 on Friday and claimed that he had been shot in the face several days ago.

Miami Fire Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said the man was picked up at an apartment at 467 SW Seventh St. and taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. He said the man, who is in his 20s, was alert and talking.

Miami police said the victim had injuries to his face and claimed that someone had shot him two or three days ago.

Police said it's unclear whether the man was actually shot, but they are investigating to determine the circumstances that led to the man being injured.
