Miami police search for 2 people involved in carjacking

Carjackers bailed out of stolen car, police say

MIAMI – Miami police are searching for two people in connection with a carjacking, authorities said.

According to a Miami police spokeswoman Kenia Fallat, the Ford F-150 was taken outside a home about 11 p.m. Thursday by three men in the 400 block of Northeast 76th Street.

A couple told police that they were held up at gunpoint by the three men and were forced to give up their truck.

Police said the culprits were spotted standing next to the pickup truck Friday morning in the area of Northwest Second Avenue and 74th Street and took off running when they saw police.

One man, identified as Deangelo Colli, 21, was taken into custody, but police are still searching for the other two men involved in the carjacking.

"We are asking everyone to stay inside their home, and if they see anything report it," Fallat said.

One of the thieves is described as a heavy-set black man between the ages of 18 and 20 with medium length dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a multi-colored hooded sweater.

The second culprit is described as a 17-year-old, who is about 5 feet 11 inches tall, has a low afro hairstyle and was last seen wearing an olive-green hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the carjacking is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
