NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – Three people, including an 8-year-old, were injured Wednesday night during a drive-by shooting in North Miami, police said.

The shooting occurred about 9:45 p.m. in the 1200 block of Northeast 128th Street.

"A family was gathered right outside their apartment when a vehicle drove by and multiple shots were fired," North Miami police Cmdr. Rafael Estrugo said.

The victims of the shooting were an 8-year-old boy, an 18-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman.

A neighbor said she heard about five or six gunshots and then saw police quickly converge on the scene. Another neighbor said the 8-year-old boy and his family recently arrived to the United States from Haiti.
