PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. – A Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputy was indicted Friday for his alleged role in an identity theft scheme, the U.S. Department of Justice announced in a news release.
Frantz Felisma, 42, of Boynton Beach, is charged with aggravated identity theft, conspiracy to commit identity theft and fraudulently accessing a device. He is being held without bond as he awaits trial.

According to the release, Felisma used his police department-issued laptop over the span of 18 months to access a law enforcement database and obtain personal identification information belonging to numerous people.
Prosecutors said Felisma sold the information to a co-conspirator, who used the stolen identities of at least 15 people to set up credit card and bank accounts.
Tens of thousands of dollars were stolen from the victims during the scheme, prosecutors said.
If convicted, Felisma faces up to 17 years in prison.
