Pembroke Pines man admits downloading 'bad pictures of boys,' police say

Alberto Blanco, 42, arrested on child porn charges

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – The mother of a 42-year-old Pembroke Pines man arrested Wednesday on child pornography charges said her son normally surrounds himself with children because he doesn't fit in with adults, according to a police report.

Pembroke Pines police said a cyber tip from Google led them to Alberto Blanco.

According to the police report, Google notified authorities that a user stored three files of child porn on a computer registered in Pembroke Pines.

When a detective went to the home to speak with the residents, Blanco's mother let him in. The detective said Blanco appeared "extremely nervous and agitated" when it was revealed that he was there investigating child pornography.

Blanco admitted to downloading "bad pictures of boys" and repeatedly apologized, police said.

According to the report, the detective searched Blanco's cellphone and tablet and noticed that the background photos were both of a clothed prepubescent boy.

Police said Blanco admitted to downloading child porn from the internet and knew that it was wrong.

Blanco "repeatedly apologized and begged for forgiveness," the report said.

Police said Blanco also told the detective that he had created a fake account on an internet chatroom that he used to socialize with children.

A forensic search of Blanco's phone and tablet revealed more files of child porn, the report said.

Blanco told the detective that he surrounds himself with children, but he denied ever acting doing anything inappropriate with them.
