Todd Kirby arrested after pulling gun on woman, friends, deputies say

Todd Kirby is accused of pulling a gun on a woman and threatening to kill her after she mistakenly parked in his driveway.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – A South Florida man armed with a gun threatened to kill a woman who mistakenly parked in his driveway, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Lorin Velez, 47, was on her way to visit friends Friday night on Holiday Circle South in West Palm Beach when she pulled into a driveway, unaware that it was the home of Todd Kirby, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Kirby, 57, came outside and yelled at Velez to get off his property, which she did, a deputy wrote in the report.

Velez parked in front of her friends' home and was hanging out with them in the front yard when Kirby returned with a handgun, pointing it at them and screaming, the deputy said.

A neighbor told the deputy that Kirby pointed the gun at them and said he was going to kill them. He said Kirby went back inside his home and then returned, this time with a rifle.

Another neighbor took pictures of the incident and shared them with the deputy.

Kirby was arrested on two felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Another deputy received permission from Kirby's wife to search their home and found a BB gun and two long gun cases secured in a cabinet, the report said.

Kirby was released Saturday from jail on a $10,000 bond.
