Gaskell's neighbor called deputies to report that the armed woman "just pointed and discharged the firearm at her," sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera said.

Gaskell then went inside her home in the 1600 block of Alexander Run in Jupiter Farms and refused to come outside when deputies arrived, Barbera said.

The SWAT team was called, and Gaskell eventually surrendered peacefully, Barbera said.

A motive for the incident wasn't immediately known.

The neighbor wasn't injured.
