Surveillance images show man involved in North Lauderdale Kwik Stop shooting

Renver Lopez, 21, shot once outside store, deputies say

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office released surveillance images Friday that show a man believed to be responsible for a shooting at a Kwik Stop in North Lauderdale.

The shooting was reported about 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Kwik Stop at 7120 Kimberly Blvd.

Detectives said surveillance images captured the moment when a man approached the victim with a gun.

The victim, Renver Lopez, 21, was shot once and fell to the ground. He was taken by North Lauderdale Fire Rescue to a local hospital.

Detectives said the man arrived at the Kwik Stop in an older-model blue Toyota, possibly a Corolla or Camry.

Deputies said there were other occupants in the car who were not involved in the shooting.

The man ran away after the shooting and is believed to live in the North Lauderdale area, deputies said.

A motive for the shooting has not been released.

Anyone with information about the man's identity is asked to call Detective Timothy Metz at 954-321-4213 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $3,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
