Victim survives being shot in chest

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. ā€“ Surveillance video obtained Thursday by Local 10 News captured a shooting last year at a gas station in Miami Gardens.

The shooting was reported about 5 a.m. Aug. 21, at an Exxon gas station at 17700 NW Second Ave.

Video shows the moment the 52-year-old victim walked back to his parked vehicle when another car pulls up the pump.

Police said a man got out of the car and opened fire at the victim.

One of the bullets ricocheted off the victim's watch and struck him in the chest.

The victim stumbled out of his car before authorities arrived.

He survived the shooting, but the gunman has not been captured. Authorities believe that the gunman fled in a vehicle that was being driven by a second person.

A motive for the shooting is unknown.
