Teens appear in juvenile court after police chase ends in Lauderhill

Police say SUV was stolen Tuesday

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The teen suspects arrested Wednesday after a carjacking and chase through Broward County appeared before a judge on Thursday.

A 15-year-old boy and two 14-year-old boys are being held in juvenile detention for at least 21 days until their next court hearing.

The teens were arrested after officers spotted a stolen SUV near Northwest 15th Street and 15th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.

Police said the driver refused to stop until a tire blew out in Lauderhill.

Sky 10 was above the scene as a back-seat passenger jumped out of the vehicle near Sunrise Boulevard and U.S. 441.

The teen ran a short distance before surrendering to authorities.

The 14-year-old driver and a third suspect were also taken into custody.

All are facing several charges, including armed carjacking and resisting arrest.

The driver also faces charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of an accident and operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license.
