Thief burglarizes at least 4 vehicles in Deerfield Beach, deputies say

2 handguns reported stolen from vehicles

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – Broward sheriff's deputies are searching for a thief who broke into at least four vehicles last month in Deerfield Beach.

The burglaries were reported between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 23 and daybreak on Oct. 24.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies said the thief was captured on surveillance video looking into a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe and rummaging through a 2009 Hyundai Sonata that were parked at a home in the 200 block of Northwest 41st Avenue.

Nothing was reported missing from either vehicle. However, a Ruger handgun was stolen from a 2006 GMC Sierra pickup truck that was parked in the 4000 block of Northwest First Street.

Deputies said a Beretta handgun was also reported stolen from a 2016 GMC Sierra that was parked in front of a home in the 400 block of Northwest 41st Avenue.

Deputies said all of the vehicles had been left unlocked by their owners.

The thief is believed to be in his late teens, and he has a short hairstyle. He was last seen wearing oversized shorts, sneakers and a T-shirt embossed with a large logo.
