Miami Beach police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez said a 25-year-old man from Vancouver was using his iPhone 6 when he was approached by the robbers, one of whom told the victim that he was armed with a gun.

Rodriguez said one of the robbers snatched the phone from the victim and the other thieves frisked him, stealing other valuables, including $105 in cash and the victim's G-Shock watch.

The robbers also got away with the victim's Jordan hoodie, an incident report said.

Police said the victim walked back to his hotel on Collins Avenue and 13th Street and was told by a front desk clerk to go to a nearby police station to fill out a report.

The victim told officers that he could not identify the robbers because it was too dark outside, but authorities released surveillance video of the men who they believed were involved in the robbery.

The video was recorded in the area shortly before the robbery.

Anyone with information about the robbers' identities is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
