MILWAUKEE – A 16-year-old high school student faces charges after being caught on video punching his teacher in the classroom.
The incident happened Tuesday at South Division High School in Milwaukee.
The cellphone video shows the teacher and student arguing in the front of the class before the teen punches the teacher in the head, knocking him to the ground.
The student continued to throw punches as he stood over the teacher.
WISN reports the teacher's injuries are non-life-threatening, and the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office is mulling charges for the student.
Outraged city leaders hope the incident shines a light on the dangers in the city's classrooms.
"I think anyone who would view the video would be disturbed...anytime you see an attack like that, and it was a vicious attack," Milwaukee Alderman Bob Donovan told WISN.
