Duo accused of robbing second Miami-Dade County clinic

Police seek third robber

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A woman and man face charges in connection with a second armed robbery of a clinic in Miami-Dade County, authorities said.

Ladonna Florence, 38, and Zion Smith, 25, were previously arrested last month after police said they were involved in the armed robbery of the 125 Clinic in North Miami.

According to an arrest report released Friday, police also believe that Florence was involved in an armed robbery Jan. 24 at the Total Care Wellness Medical Center at 190 NE 199th St. in Miami.

Police said Florence went into the clinic, asking employees questions about the business and looking around, which appeared suspicious to the workers.

Police said Florence returned to the clinic with two accomplices, including Smith, who put a handgun to the side of a receptionist's neck.

Smith demanded to know where the money and safe were, the report said.

The victim told police that she told Smith the safe was in the drawer, and a third person, who hasn't been arrested, took the money box that contained about $4,600 in cash.

The trio left the clinic in a white, newer-model Nissan Altima.

Florence and Smith were arrested this week on armed robbery charges.

Anyone with information about the third robber is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
