Wounded man drives himself to McDonald's, police say

Police officers investigate 2 shootings in Northwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE, Fla. ā€“ A wounded man drove himself to a McDonald's in Northwest Miami-Dade on Friday night.Ā 

Miami-Dade police officers responded to the fast food restaurant at 11899 NW 7thĀ Ave., next to a Marathon gas station.Ā 

Detective RobinĀ Pinkard said the 40-year-old man told police officers that he wasn't shot at the restaurant, but nearby. Ā 

The man, who was in a silver Nissan Juke NISMO, suffered gunshot wounds to his arm and lower back, Pinkard said.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took him to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center.Ā 

About two hours later, another man was shot in Opa-locka. Police officers and paramedics responded to a West Star gas station at 14124 NW 27th Ave.

Lt. Felipe Lay said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue airlifted the man to Ryder Trauma Center.

Detectives were investigating both shootings as separate incidents. They were asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
