3 Cuban migrants found in cargo ship at Port Everglades

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. ā€“ Three Cuban migrants were found stowed away in a cargo container that arrived Friday at Port Everglades, authorities said.

They were turned over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Their arrival comes days after a group of Cuban migrants came ashore in Bal Harbour after spending 11 days at sea.

Under the "wet foot, dry foot" policy, Cubans who make landfall on U.S. soil are typically allowed to stay, while those intercepted at sea are sent back.
