Pompano Beach man arrested Thursday

Daniel Maloy is accused of biting his fiance and attacking her with a machete.

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A Pompano Beach man was arrested Thursday after he bit his fiancée and attacked her with a machete, according to a Broward Sheriff's Office report.

Daniel Maloy, 32, faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, domestic violence and hindering communication with law enforcement.

According to the arrest report, Maloy bit the woman on her chin and left calf.

Next, Maloy picked up a soup can and threw it at her, causing her to bleed, the report said.

Then Maloy wielded a machete and struck her on the side of her head, causing a laceration, the report said.

As the woman tried to call 911, Maloy grabbed her phone from her hands and took it apart, the report said.

Maloy and the woman have been dating for the past four years and have a 2-year-old daughter together, the report said.

The arresting deputy made no mention in the report of what led to the alleged attack.
