HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office Burglary Apprehension Team has made an arrest in a car burglary from Halloween, but detectives are still searching for the suspect's accomplice.
Surveillance video from Benjamin Academy in Hollywood show a black Audi pull in behind a parked SUV outside the day care center.
Detectives say a passenger got out of the car driven by Ahmad Hall, 25, and used a brick to smash a window of the SUV before grabbing the victim's purse that was left inside.
The Audi then fled as mothers and their babies walked out of the day care.
Detectives attempted to pull the Audi over, but say Hall intentionally rammed an undercover vehicle before speeding away. He was eventually found in Miami Gardens and taken into custody.
Detectives say Hall had 17 outstanding warrants for crimes ranging from burglary to aggravated battery.
Anyone with information about Hall's accomplice is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
