Deputy, pregnant women hospitalized in collision

BSO: Deputy's cruiser broadsided by driver in Davie

DAVIE, Fla. – A Broward Sheriff's Office deputy and two pregnant women were injured in a collision late Tuesday afternoon in Davie.

The collision occurred about 5:15 p.m. at Davie Road and State Road 7.

According to a BSO news release, the deputy was responding to a call when his cruiser was broadsided by a driver who did not yield to the emergency vehicle.

The deputy was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two pregnant women and a third occupant in the other car were also taken to the hospital.

One of the women had serious injuries. The other two occupants were expected to survive.
