FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Two bouncers involved in the Dirty Blondes Sports Bar brawl that went viral on social media face battery charges, police said Sunday.
Fort Lauderdale Police Det. DeAnna Greenlaw identified the Dirty Blondes bar bouncers in the video as Arnald Thomas-Darrah, 30, and Jovan Ralfhel Dean, 35.
Violent crimes detectives arrested Thomas-Darrah Sunday. He was facing one count of felony battery. Greenlaw said the State Attorney's Office was set to file misdemeanor battery charges on Dean.
"What happened to my brother and boyfriend is heartbreaking," Stephanie Parker wrote on Instagram July 29th. "No one deserves this."
Parker, who fell to the ground during the altercation, told police the two bouncers beat up Alexander Coelho, 29, and David Parker, 28, on July 28. Coelho identified the bouncers on August 2nd, police said.
Keeland Dumont posted the video of the beating on Instagram. Witnesses said a third bouncer was also involved but police did not identify him.
According to police, Parker and Coelho argued with a bartender, who asked bouncers to escort them out. While Parker asked to speak with a manager, Dean put Coelho in a choke hold.
Dean then picked him up by the neck and threw him to the ground, the video shows. The other bouncer punched Parker and kicked him in the back of the head, while he was on the ground.
After the beating, rescue took Parker to Broward General Hospital, where he received several stitches above his eyes. Parker was charged with resisting arrest without violence and disorderly conduct.
Coelho was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct.
Local 10's Ben Kennedy knocked on Dean's door, but nobody answered. Dean's aunt, Shirley Smith said, "it appears he was doing his job."
