Spanky's Cheesesteak Factory ordered shut for fourth time

Live, dead roaches found in kitchen area, report says

MARGATE, Fla. – Local 10 News reporter Jeff Weinsier couldn't believe his eyes when he recently looked through the list of state inspections in search of restaurants that were ordered shut last week in South Florida.

There was just one, but a very familiar one.

Spanky's Cheesesteak Factory in Margate was ordered shut last Thursday for the fourth time.

Weinsier was there Tuesday, two days before, trying to get reaction about their prior inspection.

Weinsier was kicked out and cussed out.

The state rarely yanks a license permanently, but you have to wonder how long this cycle will go on?

Who would eat there after this history?

Below are some of the latest violations and a history of Spanky's dealings with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Spanky's was allowed to reopen again following another ordered clean-up and another re-inspection.
