Don't drill into your new iPhone 7

Many users believe they can create DIY headphone jack

MIAMI – When P.T. Barnum said there was a sucker born every minute, he may have been talking about iPhone 7 users.

Many owners of the new iPhone 7 are kicking themselves after falling for a video that encourages using a drill as a hack to create a headphone jack on the phone.

Problem is, it's all a hoax.

iPhone fans have bemoaned the loss of a headphone jack since the new edition was introduced weeks ago.

The video from TechRax suggests drilling a hole in the bottom of the phone so that owners can plug their headphones into the hole.

A hole that leads to absolutely nothing.

Viewers who attempted the faux Do-It-Yourself fix and failed are furious over their own stupidity.

"I drilled a hole in it," MackaliMesut commented. "The headphone doesn't go all the way in. Do I need to drill deeper?"

While Oshowatt Osha replied, "I did this, but now my phone won't work.  What do I do?  I tried charging it but it just does not work. Help!"

Since it debuted on Sept. 17, the video has been seen over 11 million times.
