MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A driver is dead after a BMW slammed into the back of a box truck Thursday morning on Florida's Turnpike in Miami-Dade County.
The fatal crash occurred in the northbound lanes near Northwest 41st Street.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the truck was disabled and attempting to get to the shoulder when the BMW slammed into it.

The driver of the BMW was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the box truck wasn't injured.
Troopers said they expect all but one northbound lane to remain closed for several hours.
