Driver hits bicyclist, flees without rendering aid

Bicyclist in serious condition

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who left a bicyclist in serious condition.

Miami-Dade police said the victim was traveling on the sidewalk on Northwest 103rd Street near 28th Court when a blue Hyundai, possibly a Sante Fe, veered onto the sidewalk and struck the bicyclist.

Police said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene, traveling west without stopping or rendering aid to the victim.

The victim was transported to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.

Police said the Hyundai sustained right, front damage as a result of the crash.
