Driver hits mom pushing stroller with toddler, baby in Sunrise

Traffic alert: N. Pine Island Road shut down between Sunrise Boulevard and Sunset Strip

SUNRISE, Fla. – A driver struck a mother pushing a stroller with her baby and toddler across the street in Sunrise Wednesday night.

Witnesses said the mom was attempting to cross the street at 2100 N. Pine Island Road when the car struck her about 7 p.m.

"The driver of the vehicle remains on the scene," Sunrise Police Sgt. Rodney Hailey said. "One toddler was airlifted and the mom and the other toddler were taken by ambulance to Broward Health."

About 9 p.m., the stroller remained on the ground. North Pine Island Road was shut down between Sunrise Boulevard and Sunset Strip, Hailey said, as the investigation continues.
