Police said the train was traveling about 35 mph when it collided with a Mazda on the tracks early Friday morning at Cypress Creek Road.

Manzo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Manzo failed to stop for the railroad crossing gates.

"The bars were down. The train was still in motion," passenger Che Charlot said. "We were slowing down to pull into the station here at Cypress Creek and (suddenly we saw) the car flipping over."

About 100 passengers were on board at the time, many of them on their way to work or school. They waited on the train for about an hour after the crash.

"We didn't feel anything, didn't feel any kind of bump or anything like that," passenger Alexandria Day said.

No one on board was injured.

A small crowd gathered around as the body of the driver was removed from the car.

"One bad decision can end it for you," passenger Shawn Rogowski said.
