Driver remains in hospital after fatal, fiery crash

3 die in crash on Hollywood Boulevard

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. ā€“ The driver of a white van remained in the hospital Monday after he was injured in a crash early Sunday morning.

Jospehine Altidor's van was hit by a speeding car.

The crash, which was caught on surveillance video, took place at a bus stop near a Chevron gas station on Hollywood Boulevard and North 35th Avenue.

Three people died in the incident.

Video of the crash shows debris flying through the area during the crash ā€“ moments later, there was a fire.

"I heard a loud bang, and the car caught on fire,ā€ a witness said.
"Really loud."Ā

Police said speed was a factor in the crash, as a vehicle was seen moving well over the speed limit heading West on Hollywood Boulevard before the crash.

That vehicle collided with Altidor's van, which was attempting to make a turn, police said.Ā

Altidor's family told Local 10 News that she's doing well and could be released from the hospital soon.Ā
