MIAMI – A man was taken to a hospital Tuesday after the car he was driving crashed into a light post in Miami.
The crash occurred Tuesday morning in the westbound lanes of Southwest Seventh Street, just before Southwest 27th Avenue.
Miami Department of Fire-Rescue officials said the driver was traveling west on Southwest Seventh Street when he lost control of the car, which slammed into the pole.
The driver was taken by ambulance to Jackson Memorial Hospital. His identity and condition haven't been released.
The impact was so severe that parts of the engine were found a few homes away from where the car came to rest.
Traffic was reduced to a single lane as police worked to clean up the debris and tow away the car.
