Near-drowning victim rescued, in critical condition

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – According to North Miami Beach Police Department, officers responded to a possible drowning on Monday at 3340 NE 164th Street.

Officers were told the victim had fallen in the water and never came up for air. Upon arrival, officers removed their gear and jumped in the water in an attempt to locate the victim.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue deployed their rescue divers when they arrived and were able to find the victim and get him to land. At that time, the victim was given CPR.

The victim was air lifted to Jackson Trauma Center and remains in critical, but stable condition.
