Victim struck in face with handgun, police say

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – Boynton Beach police are searching for two men who assaulted an elderly man during an armed robbery.

The robbery was reported about 2:20 p.m. Monday in a parking lot outside the 92-year-old victim's home on West Ocean Drive.

Police said the victim had just gotten out of his car when another car sped into the parking lot and two men got out and demanded his car keys.

According to police, one of the thieves struck the victim in the face with a handgun, causing him to fall to the ground.

The thieves got back into their car and fled east on West Ocean Drive. They got away with the victim's wallet, which contained cash and credit cards.

The victim described his attackers as white males, who are between the age of 17 and 19. He said they had short hair and muscular builds. The victim could not provide the make or model of the vehicle the men were in except that it was an older model 4-door car.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his face and wrist.
