Suspect questioned in stabbing death of Canadian tourist

Investigators: Twane Dobard stabbed Domenico Perruccio

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Police in Hollywood are questioning a suspect in the fatal stabbing of an elderly man whose body was found Sunday outside the Winter Haven Towers, an apartment complex located at 1750 Jefferson Street.

Twane "Gonzo" Dobard, 37, turned himself in to police Monday at approximately 9 p.m.

Investigators say Dobard stabbed Domenico Perruccio, 58, a Canadian tourist.

Neighbors told Local 10 Perruccio's body was face down on the sidewalk and two stab wounds could be seen on the side.

"It's a little scary. Its unnerving to see stuff like that and you see a body on the street," Palma Pogoda said. "It's not the most pleasant thing to see first thing in the morning."

Sue Johnson, who also lives in the apartment complex, said the victim had been talking about going on a cruise this week.

There does not appear to be any signs of forced entry in the apartment where he stayed. Authorities have not said whether he was robbed.

Detectives are asking anyone with any information to call the Hollywood Police Department at 954.967.HELP or 954.967.4411
