Employee accused of filming child in bathroom at The Knife

Eduardo Zenon Sanchez, 43, arrested on video voyeurism charge

MIAMI ā€“ An employee at The Knife Steak House in Bayside Marketplace was arrested after he recorded a child inside the men's bathroom of the restaurant, police said.

Eduardo Zenon Sanchez, 43, was arrested Friday on a charge of video voyeurism involving a child under the age of 16.

According to an arrest report, the victim was with his family at the restaurant when he left the table to use the restroom.

Police said the boy heard someone enter the stall next to him and then saw a hand holding a white cellphone over the stall, pointing in his direction.

Police said the boy screamed and told Sanchez that he was calling the police.

According to the report, Sanchez tried to open the stall that the boy was in but then ran off.

The boy noticed that Sanchez was wearing Sketchers shoes and black pants and called his father while he was still in the stall, police said. The boy's father immediately went to the bathroom, and the boy pointed out Sanchez to his father.

Police said a struggle ensued between the father and Sanchez for the phone, which was taken by the restaurant's manager and turned over to police.

Detectives said video of the boy sitting on the toilet was found on Sanchez's phone.

Police said Sanchez admitted to taking the video because of "curiosity," and said he had planned to delete the video. Detectives said Sanchez also told them that he zoomed in to take a closer look at the child's genitals.Ā

Sanchez faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
