Entrepreneurs compete for $20K to kick off business

MIAMI – Four teams of entrepreneurs competed Tuesday for the chance to win $20,000 to kick off their business.

Daymond John, the founder of FUBU and investor on the hit ABC show, "Shark Tank," joined a panel of judges for the Miller Lite Tap the Future competition.

The judges also included Wifredo Fernandez, CEO of The LAB Miami, and Neal Gottlieb and Sadie Ash Boggs, co-owners of Three Twins Ice Cream.

The judges awarded $500 to Miami resident Dawn Dickson, one of several local attendees selected to pitch their business on the spot. Dickson's business is called "Flat Out of Heels," a brand of portable and chic flat shoes for women to slip on once their high heels start hurting.
