FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue had to rescue a family that became stranded in the Everglades when their boat died Saturday afternoon.
The family had been fishing about 5 miles southwest of Everglades Holiday Park in Fort Lauderdale. When they were getting ready to leave, their boat would not turn on.

Rescuers got the emergency call and were able to safely locate the stranded family.
They were taken to dry land. No one was hurt.
It's unclear why the boat stopped running.
