DAVIE, Fla. - Thousands of Dolfans turned out for family day at Dolphins training camp in Davie Saturday morning.
Matt Moore and David Garrard took snaps in a battle for the starting quarterback position. But the Dolphins first round draft pick, Ryan Tannehill, was still a no-show.
Tannehill's contract for the 2012-2013 season has not yet been signed. Representatives from both sides are still working to hammer out the details and some of the language.
Still, fans at the Fin's family day turned out by the dozens to soak up the sun and get a look at this year's team.
The tone on all ends was optimistic.
"We've always said this is a great sports community and a rising tide lifts all ships," said Mike Dee, CEO of the Miami Dolphins Organization. "We're thrilled for the Heat and the success they had but now it's our turn and we are going to try to step up and return this franchise to its championship status."
