Fans line up for Ricky Martin book signing

Singer releasing children's book 'Santiago the Dreamer in Land among the Stars'

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Hundreds of fans lined up outside Books & Books on Friday where Grammy-winning singer Ricky Martin signed copies of his first children's book, Santiago the Dreamer in Land among the Stars.

The book, inspired by Martin's own twin sons, is about a boy with big dreams.

Some fans, who remember the pop star from his "Livin' la Vida Loca" days, waited in line for four hours.

"He's a father now, and most of his friends are around the same age and we're also mothers and there's fathers out there so I think that it's a great thing he's taking that step in his life," said Gladys Vega.

"As a father, I've discovered many emotions that were always there and I didn't know they were there and I'm just allowing myself to get really creative," Martin said.

Martin also spoke about meeting the children of fans who have followed his musical and acting career.

"It's very new for me, what you've described, that I'm talking to kids of people who have followed my career for many years. It is a very beautiful experience, to be quite honest," he said.
