Father stabs daughter with Medieval Times sword

ST. CLOUD, Fla. - Police arrested a father in Saint Cloud Friday night for stabbing his daughter with a sword.

About 10 p.m.,  Juan Javier Lovine, 44, pushed his daughter against the wall and hit her. She punched him in the eye, police said.

The enraged dad grabbed a 5-foot -long sword he had purchased at Medieval Times, the Orlando Sentinel reported. He used it to stab her right forearm, and it went through to her breast, police said.

Lovine's daughter was visiting with her four-year-old son from West Virginia. He was sleeping when the fight happened. Rescue airlifted her to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Lovine's mother Isabel M. Rego, 74, was arrested for resisting law enforcement officers without violence. She told an Orlando Sentinel reporter that her son did not intend to kill her daughter.

Police charged Lovine with attempted felony murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and domestic violence. He is being held at Osceola County Jail without bond.
