FBI makes arrest in Coral Springs bank robberies

David Michael, 37, facing felony charges in Chase, BB&T holdup

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The FBI has arrested a 37-year-old man agents say is responsible for two recent bank robberies in Coral Springs.

David Michael is facing federal charges for the robberies of a Chase Bank and BB&T Bank branch.

The first robbery happened about 9:50 a.m. on Oct. 28 at the Chase Bank branch at 10585 Wiles Road.

Agents said Michael, who was wearing a hat to hide part of his face, entered the bank and demanded money from an employee.

The second robbery happened just after 10 a.m. on Nov. 5 at the BB&T Bank branch at 4695 University Drive.

Agents say Michael demanded money from an employee before fleeing with an unknown amount of cash.

No injuries were reported in either holdup.
