FBI tries to ID Homestead bank robber

Miami Beach, Homestead bank robberies occur less than 15 minutes apart

HOMESTEAD, Fla. – The FBI is trying to identify a man who robbed a Homestead bank Friday morning.

FBI spokesman Jim Marshall said the robber entered the Chase branch about 9:30 a.m. and demanded money from an employee. The robber got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Minutes later, a man wearing a Miami Dolphins beanie cap robbed a BB&T branch in Miami Beach.

"Given that the robberies in Miami Beach and Homestead occurred less than 15 minutes apart, it is unlikely that the same individual was involved in both," Marshall said in an email.

Anyone with information about either robbery is asked to call the FBI office in South Florida at 754-703-2000.
